Albany Regional Kidney Center's home therapies program provides patients living with kidney failure the opportunity to lead a full, active life. The choice of CAPD, CCPD, and the recently-added home hemodialysis and staff assisted home hemodialysis, enables patients and their physicians to select the treatment that best suits the patients' clinical needs and achieve a more independent lifestyle.

Patients choosing a home modality participate in a comprehensive training program lasting typically 1-2 weeks for peritoneal dialysis and 5-6 weeks for home hemodialysis. Monthly visits to the clinic are required. During these visits, patients meet with the health care team: nephrologist, home therapy nurses, dieticians, and social workers to review treatment information to assure the best possible outcomes are achieved. On-call support is provided weekdays after normal business hours until 11pm and weekends 7am to 11pm. Presently, FMC and Baxter products are utilized for peritoneal dialysis and the Fresenius K2 machine for staff assisted and home hemodialysis.

The Birmingham Home Training Unit is a growing program. We provide excellent care with qualified nurses that are able to provide care to patients using FMC and Baxter products. In addition, the nurses are able to effectively manage and train patients with COBE hemodialysis machines.

The staff is dedicated to providing quality care. There is 24/7 coverage to assist patients with their needs after hours, and a staff of 12 attending physicians credentialed to admit patients to the Birmingham Home Training Unit.

Camelback's DaVita At Home program offers all current home PD and HD dialysis therapies, as well as in-center self-care (ICSC). You and your physician will be able to choose the treatment that best suits your clinical needs and lifestyle preferences. In addition, our ICSC patients have the option of doing either traditional HD three days per week or short daily HD five days per week.

We usually can adjust clinic-training hours to accommodate our trainees' needs to continue work and/or family obligations. We accept patients with any type of vascular access: fistula, graft, or catheter. We are happy to teach the buttonhole veinepuncture technique for fistulas.

Respite or back-up dialysis is available at our Camelback facility or one of our staff-assisted facilities in the Phoenix or Tucson metro areas.

We have a team of experienced nurses, technicians, dieticians and social workers that provide on-going training and around-the-clock support. Patients also maintain an on-going relationship with their doctor who will continue to monitor their care.

Gambro Healthcare Charlotte Home Traning department has been in existence for approximately 12 years. Both home hemodialyis and peritoneal dialysis are provided by a very experienced and caring staff. Cobe C3 machines are used for the hemodialysis patients and Baxter supplies for the peritoneal dialysis patients.

We have a nurse on call on the weekends and local hospitals also provide backup care when necessary. Transient patients are welcome.

Daly City at Home opened its doors on January 1, 2006. We service the entire San Francisco Bay area. The PD department has been in existence for many years. We are currently using the NxStage and Fresenius K machines for home hemodialysis. We are structured to see patients monthly after initial training. Our dietitians and social workers are an integral part of both the training and the follow-up. We have 10 clinics in this area to cover any patients needs that could arise. We have a total of 10 experienced peritoneal dialysisi nurses. Our Home program uses Baxter equipment. We work with the HomeChoice cycler and the Quantum for our cycler patients and the ultrabag for our CAPD patients.
